All the living creatures in the earth are the products of nature. All the things are the gifts to those living beings. So, each and every creature has an equal right to use all these things. Nature loves all the creatures equally. Natural things are for every creature in the world.

They have an equal right to use those things and live here. But some creatures like humans are very selfish. The trouble, kill and destroy them. Humans pollute the nature and environment. Pollution means a decline of the original qualities of the elements of the environment like air, water, land, etc. The environment is the surrounding around us where we live.

Due to bad and selfish human activities, sometimes nature is also angry and it shows its violent form. Those are different kinds of natural calamities or disasters. A natural calamity means a disaster caused by nature. Pollution is one of the greatest threats to the world today.

All the natural and made things that we see are the elements of the environment. Our environment determines our health and civilization. There are many problems in the environment. AI living beings birds, animals, insects, plants, and even human beings are victims of pollution. Pollution is of different types. Pollution causes various kinds of harm.

Polluted air, which is poisonous air makes breathing difficult; if we breathe polluted air continuously we get lung diseases, pain, and asthma. Similarly, when we drink polluted water we become ill with diarrhea, dysentery, jaundice, etc. Loud noise harms the ear.

We can become deaf. But the greatest harm is the depletion of the ozone layer in the atmosphere. It is due to chlorofluorocarbon being released into the atmosphere by factories. The ozone layer is extremely important because it stops harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun from entering and harming us. There are many causes of environmental pollution.

The main reasons for pollution are industrialization and population increase. These two bring about environmental change. Many factories have been established to produce goods. These factories and vehicles like buses, trucks, cars, and motorcycles emit huge quantities of smoke into the atmosphere. The smoke has poisonous gases which mix with the air that we breathe.

The tremendous growth in population causes cut down the trees in the forests for settlement, farming, and timber. As a result, deforestation has occurred. So the ecological balance of nature is disturbed. When wild animals and birds are killed indiscriminately other living beings including man are badly affected. So if human beings are to survive, wild animals must be preserved.

Disadvantages of environmental pollution

Here are some disadvantages of environmental pollution:-

1. Air pollution can cause respiratory problems, such as asthma and lung cancer, and is primarily caused by the release of harmful substances into the air.
2. Water pollution can harm aquatic life and cause gastrointestinal diseases in humans, and is primarily caused by the release of contaminants into waterways.
3. Soil pollution can lead to a decline in crop yields and food shortages, and is primarily caused by the release of harmful substances into the soil.
4. Climate change, caused by environmental pollution, can lead to rising sea levels, more frequent and severe weather events, and the displacement of millions of people, and is primarily caused by the release of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.
5. Acid rain, caused by pollution, can harm forests, lakes, and other ecosystems, and is primarily caused by the release of sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide into the atmosphere.
6. Ozone depletion, caused by pollution, can lead to increased levels of harmful ultraviolet radiation and is primarily caused by the release of chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) into the atmosphere.
7. Noise pollution can cause hearing loss, stress, and other negative health effects, and is primarily caused by loud and excessive noise from transportation, construction, and other sources.
8. Light pollution can disrupt ecosystems and harm wildlife and is primarily caused by excessive and unnecessary artificial lighting.
9. Radiation pollution can cause cancer and other health problems and is primarily caused by the release of radioactive substances into the environment, such as from nuclear accidents or waste.
10. Thermal pollution can harm aquatic life and disrupt ecosystems and is primarily caused by the release of heated water from power plants or industrial processes.
11. Plastic pollution can harm wildlife and marine life and is primarily caused by the improper disposal of plastic waste.
