Importance of Health Health is the condition of a person’s body or mind. It is the level of functional efficiency of a living being. The World Health Organization (WHO) has defined health as “a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity”.

If our health is not good or we are sick or have an illness, we can do nothing. Health is very important for all living beings. In humans, it is the general condition of a person’s mind, body, and spirit, usually meaning to be free from illness, injury, or pain. A sick body can do nothing.

Nobody can buy a good health if once it is ruined. Therefore, there is a common saying “Health is wealth”. Only a healthy person can work hard and earn wealth and happiness. But an unhealthy person cannot be happy though he is wealthy. A healthy body contains a healthy mind.

They can work confidently and can get success in their life. A healthy person is an asset to himself/herself, to his/her family, and to the community. On the other hand, a sick person is a burden for all. A complete health means being physically and mentally fit.

It is a healthy, bold, robust, active body with a wise, intelligent, and expert mind. Healthy persons do not lose heart. They can work hard for a long time. But ill and unhealthy persons have fatigue, weakness, anxiety, tension, anger, and irritation.

Persons with good health do continuous efforts and get success in their work. But unhealthy people are timid and not confident in any work. Even an easy work is difficult for them. This proves that good health is a very essential asset for all everywhere at every time.

We cannot compare our health with any other thing; gold or diamond. We should be very careful of our health. Health cannot be achieved with money or other valuable things. It can be achieved only by good food, habit, thought, exercise, etc. in everyday life.

Good food, cleanliness, exercise, rest, and protection against disease are essential for the preservation of sound health. Our life is for enjoying. Without health, life is deprived of not only much of its usefulness but also its joys and pleasures.

A sick life cannot enjoy as a successful life; it becomes a burden for self and other persons too. We can do many things for our good health. Our body or health is the combination of mainly five elements-earth, water, heat, wind, and sky. These elements are achieved through many things in the nature.

We need food, water, heat, air, etc. but these things should be pure, fresh, and germ-free. Unhealthy food, water, and air, etc. make our bodies unhealthy. They transmit many diseases. Diseases damage our health. We must take plenty of nutritious food like milk, eggs, green vegetables, fish, and fruits.

Only a balanced diet cannot keep our health good. Only food is not sufficient for good health. We must take proper physical exercises too. There are different kinds of physical exercises. It makes our body strong and fit. The development of a country depends on the health of its people.

When all people are healthy, they can work harder which leads to the progress of the family, society, and the nation. The greatest wealth of a country is its healthy people. They provide a nation a good human resources. So, the people should be taught how to be healthy.
